Special Initiatives

Lyon’s Way is also about spreading joy when we can. We love to gift people unexpected experiences to fuel their tanks, as a way to let them know what we’re thinking of them, and/or that we appreciate what they do every day to care for others. Below are two examples of how we brought Lyon’s Way alive in this way.

Love Like A Lyon Packing Party

On February 9, 2022, we held our first Love Like a Lyon Packing Party, a luncheon at @towneandoak in Winnetka that featured assembling 81 self-care gift boxes for the patients in the AYA Program. The gift boxes were delivered and distributed at Comer Children’s Hospital just in time for Valentine’s Day, and included @bombas Gripper Slippers, JBL Bluetooth speakers from @abtelectronics, a customized Lyon’s Way celestial @papier wellness journal, a chocolate bar from @seattlechoc, a comfy sunshine blanket from @society6, and a range of self-care items from @herbanessentials, @honest, @staywellkept, and @patchology. We were also able to raise over $7,000 for the Lyon's Way Auxiliary Fund from our Louis Vuitton purse raffle. It was a beautiful afternoon centered on spreading love.

Healthcare Worker Appreciation Day

On December 16th, we made spirits bright at Comer Children’s Hospital by hosting a much deserved healthcare worker appreciation day to thank staff for their tireless work for the well-being of others. The day included food trucks from @thefatshallot, @511empanadas, and @billybrickshq, and warm coffee, cocoa, and treats served by the @pintsizedmobilebarco. We sourced the treats from some of our favorite local brands: @bigshoulderscoffee, @youreacookie, @foxtrotmarket, and @safeandfair. Santa made a magical appearance to spread some holly jolly and make an early Christmas delivery of over 200 gifts to the hospital’s pediatric cancer patients!
